Luke Djalagarrarra

Luke lives in Ngukurr community with his wife Debbie and his five young children. Luke grow up watching his father work who is a sculpture and painter on Goulburn Island, and his uncles on Elcho who are also carvers and painters. Luke started painting his own work when he was 17, and more recently has been doing sculptures. He enjoys using traditional elements whilst exploring contemporary colours and unique forms. Luke’s is an emerging artist whose work has been exhibited and well received across the Northern Territory.
