Maree George

Maree Kalabidi George is a young Gurindji woman living in Kalkaringi. Her grandparents and father lived at Daguragu after leaving Wave Hill Station during the Wave Hill Walk Off. Maree grew up in Daguragu and Kalkaringi. She has one daughter. She enjoys painting in the Art Centre.

In the book, My Dreaming is the Christmas Bird, Maree’s grandfather, Kalabidi, told the story of the snake.
