Merrilyn Rose Frith
Karungkarni Art and CultureMerrilyn Rose Frith Nalyirri was born in Darwin in 1971. She grew up at Kalkaringi and went to school in Alice Springs. She attended Yirara College and later studied art and craft at Sadadeen TAFE, where she learnt print-making and painted lanterns.
She worked as an attendance officer for Kalkaringi CEC and also with the CDEP program in the garden with her grandmother Molly Dodd who also taught her how to paint. Her works represent witchetty grubs (lamawurt), Rainbow Snakes (Kurraj) and fantasy bush flowers amongst other themes.
