
Richard Long Jupurrurla
Karungkarni Art and CultureRichard Long Jupurrurla is an Anmatyerr man who was born in Ti Tree, a small town approximately 200km north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Richard is married to Gurindji/Warlpiri woman, Rachael Morris and lives in the Kalkaringi community with her family. Both Richard and Rachael are very keen artists and spend almost every day in the Art Centre working on their highly detailed paintings. His paintings commonly depict designs associated with Kilipi (Bush Banana), Kalngi (Bush Tomato) and Ngapa (Freshwater Dreaming). Richard’s paintings are distinguished by a fine and precise dot painting style using strong rich colour. He is a Director of Karungkarni Art and Culture Aboriginal Corporation.
