Samantha Allies/Wungundin
Mowanjum Art and Culture CentreSamantha Allies Wungundin is an artist at Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre. In 2014 Samantha won the Kimberly Art Prize, Emerging Artist Award, for her carved boab nut, ‘Wandjina Dreaming.’
Samantha has enjoyed learning colour mixing and curatorial practice. Samantha comes from a family of artists including her mother, Nancy Wungundin, and sister, Tanisha Allies Wungundin.
She worked in recent year for the art centre as arts worker and later as artist with Mark Norval Gallery but took a few years of break looking after children and family. She is now back as an artist.
