Valerie Cullinan
Iwantja ArtsValerie Cullinan was born in Coober Pedy and grew up at Indulkana Community on the APY Lands. Valerie excelled at school and attended Inglefarm Boarding School for secondary schooling in Adelaide.
Valerie has lived and worked at Indulkana for many years, Valerie spent her early twenties living and working at Yulara in Uluru (Ayers Rock). Valerie holds a certificate in Business Studies III and a Diploma of Interpreting. Valerie is fluent in Yankunytjatjara, Pitjantjatjara, and English and works with many remote based services supporting translating and education programs.
Valerie has painted at Iwantja Arts for many years, since the studio began as a printmaking studio. She works alongside her mother Emily Cullinan and sister Vicki Cullinan. Valerie paints the rugged landscape of the Indulkana Community.
