This painting tells a story about healing bush medicine found across Central Australia. The white dots represent the seeds of the medicine plant. The green stripes show the leaves, and the orange stripes are the flowers. Together, they show the life and strength of the plant.

After a heavy rain, the leaves turn green, and tiny orange flowers begin to grow. This is the time when Aboriginal women go out to collect the healing leaves.

The green leaves are crushed, sometimes boiled, to make a natural medicine. This rub helps ease coughs, colds, aches, pains, and skin problems.

Learning about bush medicine is a special part of culture. Elders teach the young ones how to find the plant, when it is ready, and how to prepare it properly.
