At the centre of this image is a large area set aside for settling disputes. Two families fight to settle the dispute of a man stealing someone else’s wife. Both families are involved in this dispute. Surrounding the Law Ground other community members celebrate their culture. Song and dance is an intrinsic aspect of Kimberley cultural life not just as part of ceremony but as entertainment for family and community. Dances learnt as young children are continuously practiced. Performers travel as a troupe to other communities and share dances specific to their community and an artist’s dreaming.
